I have the new LVT flooring in my bathroom It’s so good . It’s very waterproof but the water just sits in puddles on top of the flooring? Anyone else have this ? Thankyou

What do you think should happen when it gets wet?

MrThorpeHazell · 08/05/2026 12:27

Our does that. It's simply that the floor has an imperceptible dip in the middle.

We just mop it up. Cheaper than a new floor.

Where do you think the water should go?

It's probably a good idea it does.

If it went down the cracks between the LVT then it would probably get trapped between it and the floor and make that area soggy and maybe mouldy. If there is no moisture barier in place then it might rot the floor or maybe even the joists.

Probably some sort of floor towel to mop up excess moisture is in order.

That and encouraging people just to give themselves a quick wipe down before they leave the shower rather than just stand in the middle of the floor while it falls off them and soaks the place.

We have the same. Big bath mat is the answer. Unless you have a wet room where the water can drain into the shower drain, there’s nowhere else for it to go apart from sitting on the floor.

Change it to carpet. No more puddles - problem solved
