...to just not be able to get on with Reddit?

I've tried so many times to like Reddit, most recently when I was searching for a UK politics forum to follow. Reddit was the most highly recommended, but I find the whole presentation (on laptop or mobile) and the fact that it's so huge, totally off-putting. AIBU?

It’s more the crowd for me. Half of them are in high school and it shows.

Same but for another different reason. I posted looking for advice/input in two different sub-reddits only to have my posts instantly deleted. In one case without explanation and in another because I “didn’t have enough karma”. In order to obtain the (mythical, unspecified) amount of karma I have to participate in threads. So I’m supposed to add pointless comments to threads on which I have nothing useful to add so that I will be allowed through some hallowed gateway? Bugger that.

On Mumsnet I am at least allowed to post unrestricted. There’s no more guarantee on Reddit that I wouldn’t get the same number of responses that wilfully misunderstand or completely miss the point of my question.

Only Mumsnet for me!

If you want a laugh go on Reddit, some of the post are absolutely ridiculous.

60% of the posts on there are AI or Bot generated bullshit

I like Reddit but it’s a huge space of the internet really, and every sub has its own ‘culture’ as it were. You have to kind of find the things you’re interested in and ignore the rest.
