Just seen this about a dog being allowed to use a restaurant as a toilet at one of Gordon Ramsay’s Pizzeria…

I might be biased because I really can’t stand dogs in restaurants, coffee shops, etc, but has it not got a bit ridiculous now? We’re at the point where a restaurant manager is actually allowing a dog to piss and shit inside.

At least before, there was usually some expectation that dogs would behave or that staff would step in. This feels like that’s gone out the window and it’s just being accepted.

Customer claims dog 'allowed to use toilet' in London restaurant

Customer Giselle Cade, who was dining with her husband, said the alleged incident was ‘beyond disgusting’

I've grown up with dogs, I'm comfortable around them, and I quite like seeing dogs in country pubs and outdoor spaces at cafes etc.

But I am getting increasingly frustrated by dogs being "welcome" everywhere now. I think it goes hand in hand with the increasing personification of pets. A garden centre near me has an entire page in their menu dedicated to dog treats like "puppacinos", "woofins" etc. some are as much if not more expensive than the kids' portions. I feel bringing a puppy pad to a restaurant is a form of this in the same way I would bring my toddler's potty (except I would obviously take the potty to the bathroom!)

We were in church on Sunday and the person handing out the service sheets and hymn books had her VERY bouncy dog with her. It was on a short lead but leapt at anyone who so much as glanced at it. It jumped at my toddler more than once and scared him (he said it hurt but it at least didn't leave a mark). I'm not sure why the dog should be more comfortable in church than my child. You had to walk past and interact with the owner in order to get in so avoiding the animal wasn't an option.

I would say I'm happy for well behaved dogs that sleep under the chair to be welcomed into these places but the worst owners don't acknowledge they're bad owners so the presence of any dog is taken as permission for them to bring their badly trained menace into the venue.

I encountered a dog in A&E this weekend, definitely not an assistance dog either. That really did take this dogs everywhere too far, not everyone likes dogs and people sick enough to be in A&E can’t exactly get up and leave.

A&E is such hell a dog would be the least of my worries there and much more preferable to 80% of the public there,

I wonder what Gordon Ramsey thinks? I can’t stand being imagine his reaction if this happened in a restaurant he visited for one of his kitchen nightmares show. Yet here it is happening in one of his restaurants!
