To fly from Ireland and queue to get tickets for any tennis match at Wimbledon this summer

That’s it really! Would it be a big risk. Our flight would only arrive in at 0715 on a give day.

If your flight arrives into any of the London airports at 7.15, by the time you get to the queue, you are looking at 9am. That’s far too late. At best, you might get a ground pass at about 2pm. You will find that some people are queuing for the next day already.

I would look at getting a flight to arrive the night before. Then either join the queue and camp out. Or get a Premier Inn/Travelodge room very close to a district line tube station, such as West Brompton.

Then get the first district line tube (usually about 5.30) and go straight to Southfields. Join the queue (6am ish). This give you the only reasonable chance of something if you don’t want to camp out. But it might still be just a ground pass if you’re lucky.

In week 1, that would be too late to guarantee entry until very, very late in the day. The Queue can easily be at 10k+ by 8am.

As you go deep into week 2, that timing would get you access to outside courts for doubles/juniors/wheelchair matches. It's much cheaper too, and you still get all the experience of Wimbledon (2nd Thursday and 2nd Friday will be the best days for easier access).

Personally, I would book a hotel and come in the day before. Then get up very early and get a cab to The Queue (as early as you can, but definitely before Tubes start running at 5.30am). Wimbledon is a long, busy day and you won't want to have to leave early to catch your flight, so stay in the hotel for a 2nd night, and fly home next day. I've been doing this for years, and it works well (but book soon, as availability will be limited by now).
Wimbledon needs military-style planning!

A scout leader I know goes for a weekend with his wife, queues both mornings from about 5am and generally gets in by mid morning (has even managed centre court a few times).
