To find talking openly about money a bit vulgar?

I’ve always thought talking about exactly how much money you have is a bit vulgar and it’s something I’d never do myself. I know some people are very open about it but for me it just feels unnecessary and a bit uncomfortable.

That’s a belief spread by the upper classes to stop workers from discussing their pay and costs etc to prevent revolts.

@Friendlygingercat To be fair , I think if your adult child is living at home you do have a right to know what they are earning . You wouldn't expect your DC on a small starting salary to contribute as much as one on a substantially large one ..
