AIBU to keep our school-time holiday plans despite my sister’s schedule?

told my sister that I was planning a special holiday with my son (I’m a single mum to an 8 year old). Think similar to a safari holiday.

my sister said that she’d love to come. I’d like for her to come too as we get on well but have never really holidayed together before so it did surprise me.

so here is the AIBU, my sister works in a college and is restricted with holidays. I’m willing to take my son out of school for 2 days. The price difference is massive (thousands)
the difference would obviously only be half for her as she is only paying for one.
she can sometimes take a day off or so in school time so ive put it to her but she says she doubts she’ll get the time off, and sees a bit annoyed. We’ve left as her asking her manager tomorrow.

the price is at the top of my budget, so really reluctant to pay thousands more.

AIBU to stick to my original plan? If so, how do you think I play it from here?

Absolutely stick to your original plan. If it’s an issue she can always fly out two days later. You had the holiday planned and you were going before you knew she was interested so stick to what you had planned.

Absolutely stick to your plan, she can just join later or leave early, whichever it is.

Why the need to say “think safari holiday” - it’s not outing to know actually what holiday it is…!

YANBU to organise your holiday to suit you and if she wants to tag along she makes it work

Thanks all, think I just needed a little head wobble
will go ahead with the original plan 😁

Don't ask the manager. School employees are allowed to get sick for a couple of days

You have to be honest and say the price difference is impossible for you . Tell her how much more in total it would cost you.

Could she travel out a few days later?

Its obviously tricky for her, could you not fly out as planned and her follow a couple of days later.

I mean, obviously take your kid on his planned holiday. I see that you are planning to do that - good.
