Will the NHS repair a cracked tooth or just pull it?!

I have just discovered a cracked filling, called 111 and been told to call back in the morning in the hopes of getting me an emergency appointment.

The cracked tooth/filling is cracked at the very bottom of the tooth (as in where it makes contact with other teeth) and doesn’t seem to be crumbling. I have no idea how this happened 😭

Will they just pull it out? I’ve had one pulled before and really don’t want to go through that again. Please don’t berate me for having bad teeth - I know. It’s awful. But my local dentist keeps putting their prices up and I need to find a new one but they feel so unaffordable 😭

I changed my dentist in 2014 and haven’t dared move since as it seems really hard to get a NHS dentists nowadays . Dh got removed for not attending and has had to go private.

I do have compassion.
of course I do.
however, someone blatantly taking an urgent appointment for a non urgent issue does make me irked.
this issue clearly was not as a result of anything other than self.
holding individuals accountable for their oral health absolutely DOES help with behaviour change. We’re not magicians who can magically fix self neglect.
after 30+ years, I can very much judge the playing field, and this player should really consider berating the ones in the position to actually fix THEIR problem.

The dentist actually said this wasn’t decay, or anything like that. Just chipped tooth that happened randomly, and it was good I went in as it made the repair easier.
