What do your beach holiday itinerary’s look like?

Not a taat but I am intrigued to know what other people’s beach holiday itineraries look like now.

Ours would be like this but I’m wondering if it looks a bit shit 🤣

7-8am wake up, throw on some clothes and go for breakfast.
9am go to the room and get swimwear on, then usually dh would take ds downstairs to get some sunbeds while I tidy up the room.
10am-12pm in and out of pool
12pm go to room and change out of swimwear for lunch
12pm-2pm eat lunch, sit in shade or go to the room and sit on the balcony, dh and I have a coffee, ds chill with iPad or book
2pm back down to pool
between 4 and 6 go to room to have showers and relax for a bit, dh and I might fall asleep for half an hour. We do go to the room from 4-6 but we’d head up anytime after 4. But it might be 6.
7 pm (depending what time we headed up to room) we’d go for dinner.
After dinner we’d either go to the playground or football pitch, or walk up to the shops to look at the souvenirs/football kits, maybe a walk
on the beach.
9pm watch the entertainment or wander round
10-10.30pm bed

If having a beach day we’d head to the beach around 10am and stay most of the day.

If in the hotel we’d always get out of the sun between 12-2. Never really bothered with daytrips as Ds always wanted to stay by the pool.

What do your holidays look like?

We don't often do beach holidays but when we do the itinerary is:

Wake up whenever
Do whatever you want
Sleep when tired

We haven’t done a holiday like that for a couple of years (I think DS was 3) but our days look very similar to yours. We probably wouldn’t do anything after dinner though, just go back to the room, get DS to bed and read with a glass of wine. That’s probably a result of having small kids although even before kids, we’d generally just end up in the bar reading.

Very similar up to dinner. Then we go to hotel bar, play board games then back to room

Comedycook · 25/04/2026 19:48

Very similar to yours op!

We always like to going walking on the evening when it’s cooler.

We don’t do this every evening but the dc would like to go and spend their money and we like strolling along the beach when it’s cooled down.

I like doing stuff so a bus or drive to see something or to the beach or a market ofmr something and then pool in the afternoon. I tend to stay oit of the direct sun anyway when near the pool etc so wouldn't need to go up to the room. I do love an afternoon coffee/ice cream in a cafe.

Depends what you call a ‘beach holiday’. For the last three years I’ve had autumn holidays in hot weather beach locations, with accommodation right on the seafront. But the ‘itinerary’ would be:

Get up between 9 and 10am, one of us pops out to a bakery to get something for our breakfast

Then drive out to somewhere for exploring and sightseeing

Have a couple of drinks / coffees and probably ice cream or a snack while out

Drive back to accommodation, chill for a bit on a balcony or outside space, watch the world go by

Then around 7pm wander out for a walk along the seafront, find a nice bar for an aperitif or two

Decide on a restaurant for dinner

Have dinner

Stroll back and sit outside with a drink until about midnight or so, reading or chatting or playing on phones

One day we usually go to a local football match.

I wake up, go on a day trip I don’t want to go on, come back, my ‘D’M goes for a two hour siesta with her Siesta leaving me bored as I only have two books, no screens and the TV is in Spanish.

sometimes I go to the pool my myself, and they sit on the balcony watching me on my own.

Down for dinner at 6, back to the room at 9.

id rather spend time with my Granny, but DM calls me old fashioned.

Pestopasta123 · 25/04/2026 20:04

I think for us going to a hot country in the height of Summer, it is too hot for us to go off exploring during the day.

The dc always loved playing in the pool all day and eating, having a go at some of the hotel activities.

Usually a coupe of beach days.

We’ve got a big age gap our eldest always made a friend but youngest prefers staying close to us.

My ideal holiday (beach or otherwise) is one without any itinerary whatsoever.

ScrambledEggs12 · 25/04/2026 20:06

I love an itinerary, but don't have one on holidays when we have no plans to go anywhere.

Pestopasta123 · 25/04/2026 20:07

Ok well it doesn’t have to be an itinerary, it can just be a typical day.

Sounds alot like our beach holidays although we usually go out a walk during the day too and other days we will do an excursion or go to another town etc.

If you enjoy it who cares what others do! ☺️
