Aibu - mum friend lying

I have a mum friend and she says her child is so intelligent.

Ok, he's 3, that's ok.

However I find there are inconsidencies in her stories -eg "parents made it clear they will never help" - goes on holiday with them, they look after her kid for two nights whilst she preps for colonoscopy, they plan their days around her hospital conditions (chronic health conditions). Social media show them being present etc.

Now she says the nursery said he's going up two bands in the WellComm check. I know they should be around a level X level which is based on age but from what I can see online it's a traffic light system.

Is she just a prolific liar or am I too sensitive.

I just tune out with these type of people and say that's nice and change the subject. They just want a reaction if you dont give it, it kills the conversation. Dont let it bother you, no matter how irritating it is. Everyone can see these type of parents coming a mile away.

To me its not so much lying as needing to feel validated or try to put on a front. Tune it out and smile and nod

Hard to vote as maybe both things are true
