and then at the end of the conversation say

"In many years time you will be thankful we have had this chat"

What's the problem? At least it's practical and useful advice ...

chipmonkey · 19/06/2008 15:09

My Nana gave me great advice when I was 18 and had thrush, then rang all my aunts and told them all about it too so that the could ring me up and give me advice too! I had the most-discussed fanjo in Dublin!

waffletrees · 19/06/2008 15:32

She is only telling the truth.

cheshirekitty · 19/06/2008 16:02

Sounds like a lovely gran to me. And isn't it lovely that you are close enough to her for you to discuss your pelvic floor.

Ryobi · 19/06/2008 16:53

gosh I didnt think it was a problem. I thought it was a mixture of funny and sweet

please remind me before I post next time that mumsnet is getting pricklier by the minute

YABU. Sounds very sensible.

TheSmallClanger · 19/06/2008 17:04

YABU. It might have been slightly embarrassing, but she has your interests at heart.
You've just made a lot of people giggle, too.

ivykaty44 · 19/06/2008 17:08

I actually think that more of this should happen - friends neighbours and families ging each other snippets of advice like this and then perhaps society would be more of a community rather than what we have now Where you cant say this and that and have to be all politicaly correct and not do this etc.

Does she give you bedroom tips aswell

Ryobi · 19/06/2008 17:09

she is rather rude yes, but I am used to that
