Isn't the condition listed? Are there photos of the soles? I think you should be able to tell by looking at photos how worn they are.

Thingcanonlygetbetter · 07/04/2026 19:35

The buyer is bat shit.

Cherrysoup · 07/04/2026 19:36

Buyer is batshit. Bonkers question. I couldn't put a number on how many times I've worn a pair of shoes! Had my Docs for years, they were too big following weightloss. No idea how many times I wore them. One, two, three, many as I think Pratchett once wrote.

Coka · 07/04/2026 19:36

I guess it depends if they were posted as used or as very good condition? If used buyer is bs. If very good then a reasonable question.

Silverbirchleaf · 07/04/2026 19:36

Depends on the shoes. Walking shoes worn three times, over mountainous territory each time for fifteen miles, is going to be different to walking shoes worn for short, grassy walks etc.

xOlive · 07/04/2026 19:37

Buyer is batshit.

Sartre · 07/04/2026 19:37

I don’t think that’s such an insane question at all. I have numerous pairs of Gazelles and Samba’s for example. My green gazelles are absolutely battered because they’re my favourites so I wear them lots. I have a pair I’ve only worn a handful of times so they’re in perfect condition. The buyer is asking a straightforward enough question.

Gettingbysomehow · 07/04/2026 19:38

Why is the seller so defensive? Its a reasonable question.

DeQuin · 07/04/2026 19:40

I think the buyer is asking a good question. Shoes that have been worn twice and then you realise are too uncomfortable to ever wear again are different from those you’ve worn so much you wouldn’t know where to start. Think in units: ones, tens, hundreds, thousands.

cestlavielife · 07/04/2026 19:41

Big dufference between "worn to one wedding and a party" vs worn for a 2 week cruise holiday, several visits around town and worn to work on multiple occasions

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 07/04/2026 19:44

The seller is batshit.

It’s a perfectly reasonable question.

I would infer that the buyer didn’t mean precisely, only a rough estimate. Even if the seller couldn’t give a figure but said something like “I wore them infrequently over a period x months but then realised not my style” that would give a better idea.

Seller sounds defensive to me.

Griselinia · 07/04/2026 19:45

Seller = batshit. Seems a fair question to ask. A non batshit response would be to say eg they don't know, but have been worn regularly for the last year.

steff13 · 07/04/2026 22:05

I guess I'm the only one who would answer something like 12.2 times.

CeliaCanth · 07/04/2026 22:12

Seller is batshit, and rude with it.

Neemon · 07/04/2026 22:14

Weird. It’s a reasonable question if there’s no pictures of the soles.

HotRootsAndNaughtyToots · 07/04/2026 22:31

Isn't it a poorly phrased question? Basically asking how worn they are - the answer is light wear, heavy wear etc not a number. Seller is rude.

CarlaLemarchant · 07/04/2026 22:36

The question is fine. Answer doesn’t not have to be precise but could be easily answered with “only worn a few times” or “worn regularly over a couple of years”.

Buyer just wants to know if they’re well worn or nearly new.

As an aside “you are”…what??
