Giving up things during this price hike

Just out of interest really after reading an article yesterday

what are you as an individual and as a family phasing out right now while
prices are rising for everything?

we don’t really have takeaways much as we live rural but we did go to cafes a lot and always have snacks/food as well as coffees.

That’s now not going to be a thing as it’s so expensive

coffees from a local wagon whilst on a beach walk around three evenings a week are now a no.

we are culling the food shop this week onwards and really shopping around.

im about to go through every subscription we seen to have amassed as a household over the last year and get rid of most of them.

my glossy box subscription is being cancelled tomorrow.

ive removed next Zara and other clothing apps from my phone today

took my cards off of Amazon so I have to think about it and re add a card to buy something which hopefully will make me stop and think if I really need it.

shopping around when all insurances are due this and next month.

any other ideas would be fab

Have a clear out, anything you dont need could be sold on Vinted or if you have lots of stuff maybe do a car boot sale.

I’ve been using Quidco when buying things online. I’ve also sold a lot of things.

Its about to get very tough for me

I am about to have a very reduced budget, so apart from the basics I am giving up everything for the foreseeable.

Sorry for my ignorance, but is this about fuel and energy increases or is it wider than that?

Already streamlined the finances a long time ago to eliminate any waste, probably more menu planning with the food, we have already reduced our weekly coffee and cake meet ups to once a week, although the 2 very wealthy members of our group still meet daily so have the option of popping along if feel like it.

I regularly do full review of subscriptions and costs for insurance etc so little to change for us really - we regularly have months where we cut back on grocery budget to £50 a week to utilise what we already have in chest freezer etc and going to preserve more from our allotment this year ( and use up what we still have from last years harvest )
