Air track

I’d like to get my 5 year old dd an air track for the garden for gymnastics practice, but there’s so many options. Anyone know what length and thickness would be best? Options are 3m or 4m long, and 10cm or 20cm thick . Dd is currently practicing round offs, back walkovers and handstands into bridge if that makes a difference.

I’d go for the biggest I had room for, to allow more scope. Do you have a garden, if they get to the point of doing tumbles?

Yes we have a garden, I was hoping it would mainly be outside over summer. Do you think 10cm depth or 20cm depth is better? I keep seeing conflicting information.

One thing to consider is how and where you want to store it. We have a 4 meter, which is far too long to store inflated inside or outside the house. We want to leave it inflated because DD13 uses it for hours daily (gymnastics for fun) and it is a faff to keep inflating and deflating.

There is velcro on the end, so if you wanted to, you could attach two together.

According to DD, the thicker the Airtrack, the more spring you have. We have 20 cm and DD's friend has 10 cm, which makes tumbling more difficult.

If we had to choose again, we would get a 3 meter.

Hope you have fun with it!

Thank you. Does the 10cm or the 20cm make tumbling more difficult?

DD says, and this is just according to her and her friends, that you can tumble better with her 20 cm. Of course, another parent may have a different experience.
