3 year old and 10 month old in bunk beds?

We live in a 2 bed and currently our baby is 6 months and in our 3 year olds old cotbed it’s beside my side of the bed up against the wall and I have to climb into bed at the bottom.

DD will be 3 next month and by time we are thinking of doing this DS will be 10-11 months.

DD currently in a single house bed, she had a 4x4 kallax unit, chest of drawers and wardrobe. We can get rid of chest of drawers but need kallax for toy/spare bedsheets etc storage, no room in any other part of the house. Realistically we cannot fit 2 single beds in unless one is pushed under the window which I don’t like.

The only thing we can think of is getting a very low bunk, the one with a floor bed on the bottom for DS and the thick 2 or 3 stairs up to the bed on top (some of these even open up for extra storage). DD doesn’t ever get out of bed she just shouts for one of us however I know this could change. We will add additional safety rail to top to make it higher and also one to the bottom to stop baby rolling out.

Bed will also not be anywhere near the window.

Again, I’m not talking about the high bunk beds with ladders. I’ll attach photos of what we are thinking. Yay or nay?

TIA

We did it at 4 and 18 months but got our then 4yo an ikea kura bed (a low loft bed) and put the Cotbed under it . It worked really well and when DDs were 5.5 and 2.5 we got a normal bunk bed instead. The youngest has never attempted the ladder which really surprised me.

Glad it worked out for you, but those beds are only recommended from age 6 up.

What about a low trundle bed? Could go under the window at night and be put away in the day.

gey a high sleeper for the older child and place a cot underneath. Something like this: https://www.argos.co.uk/product/7648434?&utm_custom6=PLA&deeplink=true&gclsrc=aw.ds&&cmpid=GS001&_$ja=tsid:59157%7Cacid:844-913-7556%7Ccid:20358693262%7Cagid:%7Ctid:%7Ccrid:%7Cnw:x%7Crnd:10041749326826506088%7Cdvc:m%7Cadp:%7Cmt:%7Cloc:9194217&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=20358693262&utm_term=7648434&utm_content=shopping&utm_custom1=&utm_custom2=844-913-7556&GPDP=true&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=19672037693&gbraid=0AAAAAD9II9lcxV9YQC61cj6tQNZh54X6F&gclid=CjwKCAjwvqjOBhAGEiwAngeQndEXTzgDq_EMP0hgE3cSmUT23eBQcL8pzkI2KygOKoJbaf8RHWvGnhoCFcgQAvD_BwE

or something specifically with a cot underneath that’s built in:

I see that you could only fit 2 beds if one is up against the window. I’m assuming you’d prefer not to, because the child could climb to the window. If that’s the case, what about a Montessori style floor bed? You can get styles where they have a barrier (sort of like a cot) all the way around, so bub will still be safe.

I had this one, it’s great. My one year old at the bottom and 3 year old at the top. We put a bed guard in at the bottom one

Can you fit two cots into the room?
The three year old could have the side down and the baby could have his sides up.

If your baby's cot has taller legs maybe you could keep a low trundle bed or matress (1/2 of it) under the cot during the day and slide it out for three year old at night.

We did this when your youngest was just over 1, and our eldest was 3. we just didn’t have a choice really. Youngest was on the floor bed bunk, eldest on the top bunk. Nice shallow steps. Did I often find the little one asleep on the floor? Yes. But other than that, they were both absolutely fine.

We’ve just moved and eldest is obviously far too used to having rails as he keeps falling out of his single bed 🤣
