Your plans for Easter weekend

What you do usually do? I have two dc aged 4 and 12 and the bit age gap can make it tricky for days out etc. Good Friday we are going out for breakfast and will decorate our Easter tree and just stay local probably. We then have Sat, Sun, Mon all off with both me and dh off work so it seems a shame to waste it. We can’t go away but has anyone got any inspiration for days out or fun things to do at home? Will probably do an egg hunt in the garden (or house if it’s rainy) on Sunday. Otherwise I’m stumped.

Family lunch with the in-laws on Saturday then back to their house for an hour or two. Sunday I’m cooking a roast dinner and we’ll have an Easter Egg hunt for DC afterwards, either indoors or outside depending on the weather. Then we’ll all watch a movie and eat some Easter Eggs or play board games. Friday and Monday DC will want to go out if the weather is nice so we’ll probably have a picnic on the beach one day and go to a country park with the kids bikes another.

Nothing planned. It's never really been a thing for us. In the past when the kids were younger we did the national trust Easter trails and during the Easter holidays if we go to my parents house they might do a egg hunt in their garden.

The whole family is gathering at my parents home Easter weekend. Nothing too exciting planned, an Easter egg hunt for the small kids, we'll probably all get involved in painting Easter eggs! For us it's just about hanging out and catching up over some nice meals. Good Friday we'll have fish and Sunday we'll cook lamb. Some long walks in the countryside, if weather allows.

Sorry, that's not much help to you OP! I hope you have a lovely few days over Easter, no matter what you decide to do. Hopefully some other posters will come along with some good ideas.

Well when I was a child, it was very religious focussed - Maundy Thursday foot washing 🤮🤢, Good Friday was a multi faith traipse around town behind some poor kids carrying a massive crucifix, Saturday Vigil and Sunday mass followed by a massive gorge on chocolate after a roast and then egg rolling.

Sacked that off a long time ago, my kids and I just chill out now, they get eggs on Sunday although this year I have got them Shetland Ponies from M &S. The kids will set an egg hunt for their younger cousins on Sunday and we’ll have great lunch together at home, dog walk. The religious element is gone, they don’t have Easter holidays at school now, they are on spring break.
