Hi, just wondering what everyone thinks are the best nappies? Currently using pampers and have no problems with them just how expensive they can be. Tried Lidls brand but my baby leaked through them within a few hours. Any others I should try that are cheaper than pampers? Thanks

I used the Aldi ones and they were fine for us.

Lmnop22 · 10/03/2026 09:10

I’m afraid having tried almost every single other brand, nothing compares to Pampers. They’re worth every penny in my opinion!

brightbevs · 10/03/2026 09:12

My vote is with pampers and whilst they are on the expensive end they are often on Clubcard deal at Tesco (2 big boxes for £20) or you can check out which supermarkets are having baby events and stock up then because they’re always reduced!

How old is baby? My friend swears by the Aldi nappies but always used pampers until they were out of that small baby/constant bum explosion phase as she found the Aldi ones didn’t catch the mess as well.

AnonKat · 10/03/2026 09:13

Pampers dont fit my baby on the legs. I like Fred & flo from Tesco. Plus pampers have a strong chemical smell to me.

BastilleBastille · 10/03/2026 09:14

I always used pampers but now I’ve switched to Sainsbury’s ones after my recent baby. Every bit as good and a fraction of the price

WhatNoRaisins · 10/03/2026 09:16

I honestly never noticed any difference between the brands. I think my babies must have been of a conventional shape. I think nappies need to fit the baby right and some babies only suit certain ones.

Riverous · 10/03/2026 09:17

I think we mostly used pampers. You can often get offers on them like buy 3 for the price of 2 so I used to stock up. We also used the ocado ones for a while, which were decent. I have also used both Aldi and lidl but I was never sure about the sizing with them so tried to stick to pampers.

SereneSnake · 10/03/2026 19:12

Pampers are decent. Followed by aldi.

Nishy88 · 10/03/2026 19:19

We used supermarkets own brands - Sainsbury's, Asda or Aldi and never had issues with any of them - no leaks etc.
We used Pampers when he was first born and just didn't like them, left a mark on him and smelt funny

TheGirlInTheGreenDress · 10/03/2026 19:24

We’ve used Aldi and Sainsbury’s and both have been great. Pampers didn’t fit!

Wallaroo21 · 10/03/2026 20:03

I always get the jumbo pampers packs from Asda they’re 2 for £19. Best value anywhere I’ve worked out.

Same. Every other brand has caused issues in some way. We suck it up and pay it

Groundhogday2025 · 10/03/2026 20:36

Pampers can charge what they do because they just are the best. That said, there are some cheaper ones that are perfectly fine, but I’ve also found that can also depend on the size. Like the newborn Aldi size 1-3 are perfectly good nappies. But the size 4-6 just aren’t up to it.
The Tesco Fred and Flo nappies are pretty good, especially for the price.
Then you have to factor in nappy style (tabs or nappy pants) as that also makes a difference I find, and then eventually how you use them. By the time my daughter was potty trained and only in nappy pants over night then brand didn’t matter at that point.
Probably not that helpful. I’d suggest just trying some but have pampers (purchased on offer, always!) on standby in case you don’t get along with others.

Riverflow6 · 10/03/2026 20:38

I have 3 kids under 5. I have used them all, pampers, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Tesco, little rascal, Morrisons, Lidl and Aldi. I can’t fault any of them!!!! All working equally well for us. It’s just the fit that needs to be right, the leg cuffs always out. The right size nappy - move up a size and then tight the tabs very close together at the tummy. Honestly I couldn’t tell pampers from Lidl

lemondropsandchimneytops · 10/03/2026 20:38

We used Pampers but I made sure to stock up when they were on offer. We did use Aldi for a bit but they changed them and they weren't as good quality, we also found she was getting a lot of nappy rash with them

TY78910 · 10/03/2026 20:41

Have you tried Rascals? They’re a fiver in Asda and Sainsbury’s and are quite thick. But I do default to pampers too. I just periodically stock up when they’re on offer which seems to be every 2-3 weeks so I buy just enough until the next (2 for £12) etc

somanychristmaslights · 10/03/2026 20:42

Always used Aldi ones from birth right up until potty training.

WhatNoRaisins · 11/03/2026 09:21

Also I think people size up too soon. We never needed bigger than size 4. Heck even when mine was six and had a tummy bug and wanted to use a siblings nappy "just in case 🙄" they could still fit a size 4.

Mmmchocolatebuttons · 11/03/2026 09:24

We find huggies to be far superior to pampers. I hated the Lidl/Aldi nappies, they fit really weird and don't hold as much.

ThatJadeHam · 22/04/2026 18:02

Aldi or Fred and Flo the Tesco brand.

I actually think they're better, as didn't leak and pampers did.

Moveoverdarlin · 22/04/2026 18:04

Aldi all the way. No different to Pampers except exceptionally cheaper.

shrunkenhead · 22/04/2026 18:09

Washables. Cheapest option and you never run out.

ThatJadeHam · 22/04/2026 18:14

Are huggies no longer in the UK

Swiftie1878 · 22/04/2026 18:15

Pampers. The savings you make on the cheaper ones aren’t worth it!
