Disgusting man

Why are some men like this? I was walking my dog, enjoying the nice day, when a man approached me. He had a dog on the lead. The man said “good morning”, I replied with the same. The man then proceeded to tell me that his dog wants to hump everything. Ok, where’s this going, I wondered? He then looked me in the eye and said “I’m going to put some fucking pants on him, that’ll stop him!”

I felt extremely uncomfortable. This is not the first time a man has made sexual comments like this to me. Just stop it and go away! Am I being unreasonable to expect men to keep their sexual comments to themselves?

1: objectively that's pretty funny
2: He SHOULD NOT have said that to a random woman on her own
3: The two above cannot be separated and considered leads me to believe the man has either mental health problems or just does not understand the boundary he wrongfully crossed

I would have felt extremely uncomfortable as well. I'm sorry that happened to you

Context is everything.as a dog owner I've had similar conversations with other dog owners.

@Parrlorwarrior we meet over familiarity everywhere, at a bus stop, even in a shop or pub.
Dog walking is often more remote and I would certainly feel more vulnerable without a smart dog. Even in daylight. Be safe.

DH and I meet a similar dog on our walks, he spends his life trying to hump our slightly bewildered dog. We’ve nicknamed the dog Randy ted. The owner makes similar comments to both of us independently, we laugh and move on. I frequently walk alone at various times of day and judge the risk to me to be very low.
