Holiday planning

Hi All,
I was planning to go to Greece later this summer with a family member. I have to book time off work well in advance to make sure there is cover etc.

Family member now doesn't want to book anything until very close to the original dates and is not sure they want to travel anyway at the moment.

If I wait too long I won't get the time off work in the summer, would I be unreasonable to just make my own plans and they can join or not as they decide later on?

That's what I'd do. Assume you are ok travelling alone?

Yes, I would be fine alone, but have a friend who would come with me, so in reality it would mean family member prob wouldn't be able to come if they decide last minute to join! Further complicating it is that I have a flight credit I need to use within the next few months or I lose it! So I am quite motivated to book so that I can get the time off work and don't lose my flight credit

Just book it. Don't risk losing out because others are indecisive.

Don't you book the time off and book the actual holiday later anyway?

I have several vague plans for travel this year, which will be dependent on finances, political climate and who I can find to come with me, but all the leave is booked from work.

I have to admit I'm wary of making long term pans currently. Not particualrly because of risk of harm, but do think we could see more disruption.

But if you want to plough on and get it booked, go alone if that's what you want.
