To leave the conference early?

I'm a few hundred miles away from home and have endometriosis and adenomyosis. It means that often I'm bleeding very heavily and drop blood clots all the time which makes me flood through clothes. Last night, despite the thick pads I was wearing, I woke up in a pool of blood, all on the sheets.

Today I feel horrendous. I'm tired and depleted of energy from the blood loss. Tranexamic acid barely touches it.

So this conference I'm at is due to end at 5pm. I've bled through all pads I have and I'm currently wearing my nightdress as a pad until I can get to the shops.

The conference has cost my employer hundreds for me to attend. Wibu to leave early, book the earlier train and get home to comforts and my bath?

Leave early, get home and take care of yourself.

Well you've certainly written it as though YANBU, so just tell your employer you're ill and leave early.

I do feel guilty and have huge anxiety over work matters.

Totally get the worry over work. Can you let your employer know you've taken unwell and need to go home early? Take care of yourself, I hope you get home soon.

Be completely honest with the employer. Say you’re bleeding heavily and need medical attention. Leave and go home, call in sick tomorrow and next week if you need. Make sure you follow up with a dr about next steps as you can’t sustain that level of bleeding for long.

Thanks everyone.

I'm under the care of the gynaecology. I say care, they don't seem to care at all, but that's another story for another day!

Are there so many people there that they might not notice you’ve gone anyway?

Honestly I would be going to A&E for that amount of blood loss. And pestering primary care saying it's affecting your work and you might lose your job. They don't care about women's pain but threaten them with unemployment and benefits and they might move more quickly. Fucking mysognsitic health system.

I've pestered and pestered, even emailing the male gynaecologist consultant directly numerous times. He wants me to try the coil even though I've expelled it twice due to severe flooding. He also wants me to take some tablets even though I've told him they make the bleeding even worse which I didn't know was possible. His secretary is shit and tells me things that aren't accurate, eg to phone bookings and scheduling for stuff that she should be doing.
