Upside down pie horror show

I just watched a social media video in which an old guy cooked a Frey Bentos pie. When he served it he took it out the oven and turned the tin upside down on the plate, so the pie came out pasty side down.

I mean, regardless of the general merits of a Frey Bentos pie, who serves a pie upside down.

I was aghast.

@Flannelfeet Not my fault that is how they make them. So not evil, if I was a witch I would magic them into being actual meat pies

In the 70s DF regularly made us Frey Bentos pies for Saturday dinner when DM was at work.
He’d remove the lid, put the pastry component on it to bake in the oven and leave the stew part in the tin to cook uncovered. Then serve, with pastry on top.
I have such bad memories of the Steak & Kidney version that I’ve never attempted to cook one.

🤣🤣🤣. I actually need to buy one just to try. Abra cadabra....swish, swoosh turn this frey bentos fake meat pie into a massive scottish steak pie 🥧 😋
