not if you give it back

benbon · 16/06/2008 17:54

i would if ts the only way you will be able to go, im sure your children wont go without what they need just because youve taken a few quid out of there boxes

Scuff · 16/06/2008 17:54

Not if they won't notice, and it gets put back before they need it.

Iota · 16/06/2008 17:55

I'm always robbing the kids money boxes - usually for change for parking meters

I always put it back though

LadyMuck · 16/06/2008 17:55

I still remember my money box being raided in order to pay the electricity bill (I can even remember the amount of the bill).

I would urge you to reconsider! They will probably remember for the rest of your life!

SoupDragon · 16/06/2008 17:56

I steal all the SmallDragon's birthday money but then buy them things with my credit card to pay it back

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/06/2008 17:56

Ds has no clue as to how much he has in his purse, so I do sometimes 'borrow' a pound or two

bythepowerofgreyskull · 16/06/2008 17:58

if they won't notice and you can pay it back then go for it - enjoy

whoops · 16/06/2008 17:59

Thanks! don't think they will have more than a couple of punds any way as they have mainly coppers in them anyway! I'm always buying them things anyway even if they say they want to buy them!
Of course I'll put it back at pay day

Not if they don't notice or you get their permission and pay them back promptly.
I do it all the time

bran · 16/06/2008 18:09

We have raided ds's money box a few times, usually to pay the cleaner. We justified it (to ourselves as he didn't know) by saying that most of the mess was made by him anyway and it was about time he started paying his way.

whoops · 16/06/2008 18:14

msl bran - although I do pay for the nursery, food, treats..... is only fair they should give something back

Love2bake · 16/06/2008 18:14

The electricity bill in question was £2.72 (though admittedly we were talking early 70s at the time of the powercuts anyway). Don't despise coppers.

kslatts · 16/06/2008 18:38

YANBU, as long as you pay it back they will never know.

LazyLinePainterJane · 16/06/2008 18:46

My money was always borrowed as a child and never paid back. All birthday and christmas money

If you are going to pay it back...I think it could be easy not to though.
