Is this normal for ovulation?

NC for this. Since having my dc I have always had quite noticeable signs of ovulation - heavy clear discharge for a few days (sorry tmi) and sharp pains on one side at the time of ovulation. Annoying but not a problem.

I’ve noticed that these symptoms are intensifying and lasting longer. So for example last period was on a Thursday, finished the following Thursday and by the Sunday (so day 10 ish of my cycle) I had very heavy egg white mucus and a bloating ache all through my abdomen. It carries on until I ovulate where the pain intensifies then it all goes away.

I’m almost 40 and wondering if this is a sign of peri perhaps? Has anyone else experienced symptoms like this? Painkillers help but it’s not nice feeling uncomfortable pretty much straight after my period for another full week. Doctors say it could be due to scar tissue following c sections.

Best see a doctor. There is a condition called mittlelschmertz syndrome- pain when one ovulates. That is not sinister. Just painful.
Not being a medic strongly advise you see a doctor though if only to rule out anything more serious

I've had this on and off for a few years (41 now). Gynaecologist wasn't concerned, she told me it often happens with benign cysts, then after a couple of months they resolve themselves which is why it can come and go. She said it can also be due to hormone changes in early perimenopause when ovulation symptoms generally intensify, she recommended chasteberry supplements and its really calmed down since I started taking them.

I do think it could be to do with my age. It isn’t new symptoms as such, just an intensity of existing ones. And they are lasting longer.

I’m 34 and have had this for years.

I saw a gynaecologist for a few different issues and she did do an internal scan and there was nothing wrong. She wasn’t concerned about this issue.

Obviously I’m not saying it could never be a sign of a problem, just that it can be nothing sinister.
