i am always in some type of pain, back mostly, have been to the doctor for tests but they can’t find any reason for it so I just plod on, it’s usually when I’m on my feet too long but some times I just wake up and it’s sore all day, this last few months I have been getting dull pain in most of my torso, a dull ache in my left lower side, dull pain in chest and collar bone pain under right rib cage…the list goes on. Just constant dull aches. I have an appointment next week about the torso pains but to get to my point, is everyone like this?? DH thinks it’s a part of getting older but I’m only 33! Im 5’8 and 12 stone I don’t think I’m overweight as I carry it very well and would not aibu like to be any slimmer.

I hope you get this sorted OP, you shouldn't be in pain like this at your age.
And I don't think it is weight related. I'm a similar height, two stone heavier, nearly 58 and don't have aches and pains like this. Def look into it further.

No, that doesn't seem normal for someone your age and weight.

I'm 41, 5"3 and about 13 stone, so a bit porky. I feel like I carry it quite well though.
I'd say that I can't really run any more. I can get a short trot on, but if one of my kids asked for a race, I'm not really up for it. I find it too jarring on my knees and hips. But I'm also aware that if I lost some weight, I probably could.

I feel like I'm in better nick than a lot of my friends of a similar age though, who are always complaining of aches and pains.
I credit my job with my reasonable condition though. I work with young children, and that keeps me mobile.

I don't really get any long-term pain, other than a persistent knot in my left shoulder blade, that flares up from time to time.

Have you had children recently, I was quite achy for a while after I had mine, I think related to things stretching/hormones etc. At that time I did actually get yes for rheumatoid arthritis (which I didn’t have). It all eventually went back to normal until menopause but HRT sorted out the aches and pains.

Do you warm up, stretch, and cool down? And do you warm up, stretch and cool down from childcare?

I only ask because I had aches and pains for a while until I got into a good daily stretching routine, which I'm still to replicate on childcare days. Childcare and home tasks create a lot of labour for your back, which has to recover from pregnancy too.

Which is not to say that you shouldn't get it checked out, but it's quite a common problem for mums of young children.

I think you need to get that checked out, OP. Hopefully it’s nothing, but what you describe isn’t an inevitable part of ageing.

Thank you for all the replies I have been reading them all and taking them into consideration, I sleep alone in i
room with dc2 he’s in his cot so I get a reasonable enough sleep, DH and dc3 who has type 1 diabetes sleeps in another room, I do have quite broken sleep as woken up by dc3 cgm alarms often at night, I will definitely look into the stretching recommendations
