Downstairs WC renovation cost? (North London)

Posting in AIBU for traffic

We are looking to completely redo our downstairs wc (which is very out dated). Floor needs evening, then lay floor tiles, wall tiles to waist level then paint the upper walls and the ceiling. Remove the old toilet and sink and install new ones.

How much would you expect to pay in 2026 in north London? TIA!

Thank you! Was this for a full bathroom or a wc? Good to know as we’re looking to do the main bathroom next.

Thinking about it, it was nearer 10k. A downstairs WC. I had tongue and groove look panelling because it is cheaper than tiling. Old fashioned basin on a vanity unit. (Look at Bayswater) Floor standing toilet. Amtico LVT. Old style radiator.
Plain round mirror. I didn’t have any electrics done, to save money. So I kept the pendant light.
Everything so much more expensive than you expect!

We are in Hertfordshire (so not far away) and had an ensuite done before christmas.
Ripped out old fittings
Tiled floor and walls up to windowsill height
New toilet, sink with drawers and shower
Painted walls and ceiling and fitted ceiling spotlights
New wall cabinet fitted
That was 10-11k, so i would guess slightly less for a downstairs toilet

That’s very similar to what we’re having done. I’m astonished at the prices!

We had massive tiles (over 1m on longest side) on walls and floor. i think we needed 16-20 for the whole bathroom. I think its possibly cheaper and definitely quicker than small tiles.
