To encourage DH to keep his season ticket?

Every year we have the same conversation. He's not sure he wants to renew his season ticket (Premier League team he supports) due to feeling bad about the cost essentially.

We aren't super flush but can afford it even if he spreads the payments across the year. Yes we'd always find something else to spend it on but we aren't going without!

He doesn't go out a lot, doesn't have other hobbies etc. We spend most weekends together and if he gets the chance he takes DD along with him.

I think it's nice to have something he enjoys doing, i don't see why he wouldn't want to keep it? If he gives it up then he will never get the chance back again.

It’s good that he asks rather than takes for granted

Sounds like you like him being out the house on a saturday.

Nothing wrong in that

I think its £1200/1300. Upper tier and good view, most importantly, exit near the train station! Just for PL games and first refusal for other games (paying extra which he doesn't do unless it was a semi/ final type game)

We're having fun trying to guess which team here-West Ham?

Hmmm.

Exit near a train station is not much to work with.

West Ham a good guess.
I'm guessing Leeds...

its his hobby he enjoys it and your dd gets to go sometimes too. Maybe he’s a bit disheartened if they may go down but deep down if he loves going and loves the club he should keep it. People wait ages for the chance. My partner made the mistake and regretted it immediately. People will suddenly get uppity because it’s football but essentially if it’s his only hobby he does and you’re happy then sounds great he keeps it going. And I’m sure even if they go down he’ll still supporting. (Partners team are almost certainly going down from PL this season 🤦‍♀️)

He's a Tottenham fan then! 😂

Not West Ham!

Weirdly they don't play often at Saturday 3pm because they are on TV a fair bit. So there's also the inconvenient kick off times!

We're Burnley fans so ruled Burnley out, and Leeds' stadium isn't that close to a train station IMO-we live over this way.

Obviously which team OP's DH supports doesn't at all matter, but the guessing game is fun!

Haha nope

i would not nor would my DH give up season tickets! We support different premier league teams and DS1 goes with him and DS2 comes with me! We let them choose who they were going to follow!!

it takes up a lot of time, it’s expensive but we love it. And especially as he can take DD!! I went to my first match in 1994 with my dad, I can remember the score; the goal scores, the walk the game etc. I love having this with my dad

I think this is the route I will push. I think it's great that he spends time with her and something they do together, hopefully for a long time.
