Shamelessly here for traffic.

i narrowed it down to four below. Its for my husband’s 40th bday. Never had a coffee machine before. We usually drink instant nescafe, although he is much more coffee lover than me

I’ve got a De’Longhi about 10 years old and still going strong. It’s fabulous. I only drink black coffee but it has a milk frother that I use for hot chocolate. I would definitely go for a bean to cup machine: the pods are much more expensive, they produce plastic waste and restrict your choice in which coffee you drink.

Ladyymuck · 21/02/2026 07:12

We have a delonghi which is almost 9 years old. It’s used every single day and has been worth every penny. It’s a delonghi eletta cappuccino top.

Overherelikeeeyore · 21/02/2026 07:44

We’ve had the Ninja Cafe Luxe Pro for about 2 weeks. Bloody love it. Does bean to cup, filter, cold brew and the frother is amazing.

Overherelikeeeyore · 21/02/2026 07:46

This is it. Beautiful too!

Hah, the number if times I've thought about spending proper money on a coffee machine, then realised that my Aeropress is pretty much perfection.

And it's not like I even need a frother. I prefer just a splash of cold milk.

Edited

Similar here. We bought a De'Longhi machine from Amazon, tried it several times, then sent it back after deciding that it took up too much space, was more of a hassle to clean and, more importantly, didn't make better coffee than we could make with the tools we already had.

Another vote for Delonghi here. I used to have a nespresso pod machine and when it gave up I worked out the initial price of the machine and “in use” price of pods/beans/water filters/etc. It worked out that I broke even at about 18 months.

I may need to cut my coffee intake!

PosiePerkinPootleFlump · 21/02/2026 09:55

If I was going to get that sort of a machine I’d get a sage. Discount codes and details here https://coffeeblog.co.uk/best-coffee-machine-deals/

i use a Flair manual espresso maker. On the occasions I want milk I heat it in the microwave froth it in a small cafetière. But I don’t have coffee with milk often enough for that to feel a hassle, and it saves cleaning that part of a machine

This is it. Beautiful too!

I've just bought one - picking it up today! (From Argos - currently reduced from ÂŁ700 to ÂŁ495 if using the 10% off code in conjunction with the other offer)

What do you find you mainly use it for?

EmmaM84 · 21/02/2026 12:41

I had the delonghi magnifica S, broke after 2 years. Went for Ninja Luxe Cafe last month and prefer it. The not having to hold a jug in the milk frother is a game changer for me but extra step to grind beans then move to make the coffee.

Newmeagain · 21/02/2026 13:21

None of the Argos ones,.

SAGE , SAGE, SAGE

I love mine.

We got ours on that offer too.

We use it for everything. Morning coffee, DDs make chai lattes and hot chocolate. We got the filter coffee pot too and use that.

I have a Sage and I’m very happy with it. I’m very particular about coffee!

Me too! One of my best purchases ever. It makes me happy every day. If it broke tomorrow I'd replace it immediately. Only change I might make is to upgrade from Barista Express to Barista Express Plus but the difference is minimal.

Ceramic filter cone from Monmouth coffee shop, filter papers and their coffee beans delivered on a regular basis. You can buy ground coffee as well. Coffee grinder was a Christmas present to DH as we have now got through 2 grinders in 40 years..

Excellent cup of coffee every time, worth the slight delay waiting for the water (boiled at 90 degrees) to filter through

Sage make very good coffee machines. If you’re buying bean to cup it does work out quite expensive as well buying the beans. We bought the Sage bambino which we are very happy with. We bought a separate Baratza grinder for my son who is a barista. He does everything with this setup including beautiful latte art. I use preground coffee with the bambino and love it. If you buy on offer from a coffee producer then you can get three free bags of beans etc. or a discounted coffee bean subscription. We bought from Original coffee in the sale before Christmas.

2026IsMyYear · 22/02/2026 12:42

We love Sage products & have the Bambino Plus & a seperate Sage coffee grinder & a kettle & waffle maker. All excellent quality.

I think a panini press next..

MrsKateColumbo · 24/02/2026 20:30

I bought a Sage due to the Mumsnet hive mind advice and am glad I did so - you should follow suit haha

Ohyeahitsme · 24/02/2026 22:45

Personally I would get a sage but if you have to choose from the ones you've linked then it would be the delonghi.
