AIBU to think that crushing a biscuit for the robot vacuum is pretty lazy!!

Yesterday heading out the door I did a quick tidy up of toys in the sitting room (threw them in boxes) so that the robot vacuum could go around while we were out.

DH came in to help, he stood on a biscuit to crush it so that the vacuum would be able to get it, instead of just picking it up!

I was just - "what are you doing" - I ended up laughing so did he.

AIBU to think this was so lazy?!

Any similar funny stories for a Monday morning?

I have been built of spying a crumb or a clump of fluff on the floor from a supine position and picking it up to throw it into Eufy’s path rather than just putting it in the bin. Crushing a biscuit underfoot seems like more effort to go to in the spirit of laziness.

😆
Funny-lazy, not pick-your-arse-up-lazy.

To discover true lazy you need a cat. Because if a cat sits on you, it is complete inconceivable that you should get up to do anything - except feed it, of course. This is called being incapussytated.

NotMeAtAll · 16/02/2026 11:29

Even if it requires more effort, it's in the spirit of the great art of laziness. 🤣

He obviously doesn't want the robot hoover to worry about unemployed so is keeping him busy.

EyeLevelStick · 16/02/2026 11:31

Maybe the hoover likes a biscuit snack. Must be tastier than fluff and dust, surely?

Totally funny lazy, I am not often short of words but I actually didn't know what to say so just laughed. It was funny. And DH in general is far from lazy

@EyeLevelStick with a 1yr old and 3yr old, who knows what that hoover 'eats' on a daily basis. He has also been sat on, pushed, turned over

I live in a home with several long-haired animals. On occasion a little dust bunny of fluff will waft past me as I leave the room. I've been known to pick it up, open the window and chuck it outside as walking the 15 metres to the kitchen would be far too much strain 😉

PS: I have an Eufy vac and also manually hoover daily but the fluffy ones do persist in malting everywhere.
