To report this person?

NC for this post.
I work in a role adjacent to social care. One of my clients, a care home resident, went to the Court of Protection because they wanted to go home.
In the court case it was revealed that their relative and LPA had helped themselves to over £100k of their money.
There is a safeguarding ongoing but unlikely to go to criminal proceedings (police don’t generally seem to act on situations like this) and the findings have been sent to the Office of the Public Guardian in the hope they will remove the LPA.
Part of the reason the person took the money (which they are due to inherit) is to set themselves up in business. They want to work in finance offering mortgages etc.
I don’t feel this person should be placed in a position of trust with other people’s money. But also I’m annoyed there will be no consequences for their actions.
Is there some sort financial ombudsman you can report people to, and should I report them or just stay out of it? This person is also living rent free in their relative’s £1m house.
But I confess my motivation is more spite because they will get away with it than concern for their future customers.

If you are social care adjacent and safeguarding concerns have been raised and are ongoing, i'd imagine social care and their safeguarding team will take all the necessary and legal steps.

Presumably the opg and the bank will inform the fraud department and the police

Follow your workplace procedures or ask for advice from your manager.
