Guess how many Reform MPs turned up for the enquiry in Russian interference in the UK?

You’ve guessed correctly. I wonder why? They are showing us exactly who they are…

Well it's not like they don't know all about Russian interference in UK politics is it ? Would probably have been a bit boring for them.

Who knows, maybe they decided to look into matters they have less knowledge of. Like empathy, humanity, decency and competence ?

Clubbiscuit · 11/02/2026 12:45

The meeting was quite worrying. It seems we are getting a higher amount of Russian interference and cyberattacks than other European countries.

In fairness they're already experts in this area.

dontcallmelen · 11/02/2026 14:29

Wonder how many roubles they pocketed for not attending.

randomchap · 11/02/2026 14:53

It's a shame they didn't turn up as they are the experts on it

HarryMaguireSlabHead · 11/02/2026 15:00

They're all terrible! I never realised just how many Labour MPs and councillors are paedophiles

More proof of Russian interference

Or it could be that other countries are also suffering, but are keeping schtum about it and dealing with it quietly.

I wonder if Putin ever has a rest from throwing open luxury British hotels to foreign sex offenders, giving transgender men free rein in women's prisons and mental facilities, freezing pensioners, appointing vermin like Mandelson as an ambassador, etc etc.

How unfortunate that there's this evil bogeyman the other side of Europe responsible for fucking up Britain, but at least it's not the fault of the (interchangeable) Conservative and Labour politicians who did it all.

bemoresloth · 11/02/2026 15:18

Maybe too worried about the Bannon/Epstein links?

Ofcourse Farage claimed not to have met Nathan Gill either.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 11/02/2026 15:23

They’re probably working from home…

I’d rather live with transwomen than end up with a horrific shitshow like the US.Because that’s what Bannon et al have planned for us. It’ll not be much fun being a woman with no ECHR and ruled by a party “mentored” by Bannon who says that women should never have had the vote.

If you're happy with the state of the country now, that's ideal.🤷‍♀️

Toute nation a le gouvernement qu'elle mérite and all that.

Thanks for this thread, @Clubbiscuit , and the link to the video of the committee session.

I'll watch that tomorrow.

This debate is long, long overdue.

And the fact that Boris Johnson's government sat on the Intelligence and Security Committee's 2029 Russia report for so long is both telling and worrying in itself.

Refusing to publish it before an election is particularly concerning.

I haven't watched this session yet, but no, other European countries are not keeping schtum about Russian interference.

Just as one example, this is what Germany is having to deal with:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2025/03/23/germany-fears-russia-behind-asylum-seeker-terror-attacks/
German sources said there have been cases where petty criminals, such as drug dealers, suspected of being part of Russia’s wider shadow war on the West have “broken down and admitted” in interrogations that they were recruited by Moscow.
...
German officials have previously said the Russian practice of recruiting criminals or other outcasts within Germany is so widespread that they have compared it to a “gig economy” for “sabotage and terror”.

Thats scary. It’s war but a new kind of war.

I don't wish to make excuses for the loathful Reform, but it isn't a big deal.

It was a Westminster Hall session to discuss a petition that had reached the 100,000 signature threshold. It was not a House of Commons session. All Westminster Hall sessions result in a motion "That this House has considered...." and that's it. There is no voting. A rule to note is that "the quorum for a Westminster Hall sitting is three, including the Chair" - yes - they are that important.

Looking at the footage and Hansard, the number of attendees was around 25, and I can't be bothered to identfy everyone, but I counted 13 Labour, 5 Lib Dems, and one each from Con, G, PC, DUP and SNP.

Note also that Westminster Hall sessions take place at the same time as Commons sessions, which of course are more important.

I take on board your comments. I actually signed a petition to support this happening. I feel that with the Epstein files etc, we need to really push for politicians who aren’t actually working for a country that we are at war with. What’s the point in anything if it’s people who aim for our destruction who are actually pulling the strings?
