I was seeing how old the posting history goes back on this site.Just out a few of curiosity because you can literally choose page ten thousand and something, and i've never seen that on a forum before.

Look at this from nearly twenty years ago.

2007 thread

Now everybody would probably say the mum and baby, she'd get off the bus to let the dog have the free reign. Meant light heartedly 😄

It's amazing what a difference.Twenty years makes.

Travelling on buses with big dogs on board | Mumsnet

Okay, maybe not many of you use public transport anymore but I don't drive so I use the buses regular. A couple of weeks ago I was on a bus coming ho...

I don't understand your point?
I don't use buses much but I wouldn't want to be on a bus with a dog that's not in control especially with my children. Some dog owners may like to get the bus somewhere with their dogs but whether a dog is well behaved or not can't be policed. So I don't know what solution could be had.

It’s not appropriate to take large dogs on buses. They are a nuisance even if they are “well behaved”. Personally I would say no dogs on public transport ever due to allergies/hygiene but I would settle for a size limit.

I'm not sure how the response would change really... Some would say large dogs shouldn't be on buses, cafes, off lead, etc. A lot of dog owners will respond that it's legal, they don't cause problems, etc. We have seen very similar threads recently.

Large dogs are still allowed on buses, at least in my area, and the bus driver wouldn't have been able to do anything about it.

The issue here was more about it being potentially a dangerous dog rather than a large dog.

I think you're right, OP. I have also noticed this, not on MN specifically but in the world at large, dogs are allowed everywhere these days and the general attitude is much more pro dog. Personally. I'm not a fan of dogs in cafes. That was rare 20 years ago .
