Peri-menopausal rage

Hello
I’m pretty certain I would benefit from having my hormones looked at and seeing what can be done to help manage them (if there is such a thing?!). I’m late 30s and I’ve started experiencing hormone related rage, along with intense mid-cycle pain which is new for me. Wondering if I’m peri-menopausal. The rage has started to affect my relationship with my husband.
Does anyone know which kind of medical professional I would go to about this? I don’t want to go to the GP, I want to pay privately to be seen quickly and by the right person quickly.

Is it a gynae issue? I don’t know which kind of doctors deal with hormones and peri-menopause.

Thank you.

I’d start with your GP.. a 10 minute appointment with them will tell you what they suspect is the issue and will point you in the direction of the right HCP.. then you can pay privately to access them. Changes to your period should be treated as a priority so you shouldn’t wait long for an appointment with the GP.

Rage is a very common symptom of peri-menopause, although in your 30s I suspect you'll find it hard to get a GP to take you seriously. It's worth a try, not least because seeing your GP is free and if they will prescribe you with HRT at that age (again debatable), but it's just the cost of a prescription.

In terms of paying, well you'll need to find a menopause/women's health clinic near you. Louise Newsom is probably the best known private clinic for women's health and all things menopause related. She has clinics in London and I think Manchester.
