24 hour layover in Paris? Advice!

Hello, please help with some travelling plans!

My husband, my 4 children and I are planning to travel (long flight) soon.

Since we can’t fly direct, one of the options is giving us a 1 hour layover in Paris.

We reach Paris CDG airport at 9:00pm.
Our flight would be 8:00pm the following day.

Since it’s unlikely we would be sleeping in the airport (!) I was wondering how we could plan this to be a quick sleep and day trip in Paris?

Should we book an Airbnb/hotel in a particular area? 🏨

Can we see a few ‘main’ sights in one day? 🇫🇷

What’s travel like to and from the CDG airport? 🚕

Any other tips or advice you could share?

The flight would be August 1st, so summertime!

Thank you! ❤️

Personally I would stay near val d'europe and get 1 day 1 park tickets to disneyland paris. You would need to be selective in what you chose to do, but could do some rides, maybe a show and a seasonal parade. For those ages the main park would be better.

I am however a disneylandparis fan so my opinion may be a bit biased. 😀

There is a high speed train to and from cdg to marne la vallee - the station near disneylnd paris. 1 stop on the rer to val d'europe, or about a 30 minute walk . You could also prebook private transfers that will pick you up at the airport and take you to your destination.

I would get the train, not drive. Driving to Paris centre from CDG in a hired 7 seater and trying to park would not be fun.

Go somewhere you can get a direct train (RER line B, eg Chatelêt les Halles) and get a hotel room there, sleep, and wake up right in the middle of touristy Paris. You could get hop on hop off bus tickets which do loads of the sights, or as PP said, get on a boat and see everything from the water. Bateaux Mouches are decent. Walk (or Uber) across the river to Jardin des Plantes (free) and go to the greenhouse or museums (tickets-paid) if your children are into animals/dinosaurs. Late lunch and train back to airport.
Bon voyage!

Are there any good hotels near the Eiffel Tower or am I being mad and they’ll be so expensive in August?!

You don't need to be near the Eiffel tower you can see it from everywhere it's bloody massive
