Which coffee machine?!

Something not too bulky. I am a nescafe+milk type of girl so dont know much about it. I do enjoy some cappuccinos, ice coffees or similar sometimes, some fancy coffees etc. Any recommendations?

We have a delonghi one. Love it

Donotpanicoknowpanic · 24/01/2026 22:08

We have delonghli

They are the biggest manufacturer

With delonghli I have an auto one with a steam wand

If it helps to make the decision easier which one to get

Basically

Inside they are all the exact same

You just pay more for touch screen features and nicer exterior finishes

The inside coffee making bits by and large are the same (depends a bit how high up you go)

I second this. I have one and it’s brilliant - not too big, makes great coffee, reasonable price. I have hammered mine for about 3 years and it’s still going strong.

I have the Philips Latte Go - I got it on Amazon for a fraction of its current price as they often discount them. It’s brilliant - no wasteful pods and it does the milk automatically, including dispensing it into my cup!

Yes! Had it 3 years, use it multiple times per day, love it never had an issue. Takes up very little space. We also have a grinder for beans, highly recommend (we have the delonghi one too)

Following thread with interest, as I want to get a coffee machine too…

Happycow · 25/01/2026 06:35

I also have the Delonghi Dedica - been going about 10byears now and still does a lovely coffee and creamy foamy milk

Toddlerteaplease · 25/01/2026 06:37

I’ve got a sage creatista. I love it.

PeonyBulb · 25/01/2026 07:08

I have a delonghi machine but I still use my stovetop Moka pot and my Melitta filter coffee machine because it has a timer so that’s for my daily morning commute to work coffee. I love my coffee

Honestly, we have John Lewis’s own brand one and it’s fucking fantastic. We pissed about with lots of others over the years and this one is far superior, despite being cheaper.

We don’t faff about with the pods and such. Tried a tassimo once and thought it was a fad and waste of time. The pods are awful for the environment and so expensive.

Barrellturn · 25/01/2026 07:14

I used to have a Nespresso and before that a dulce gusto. I would avoid both now. The pods are a pain to recycle so you end up binning them which is awful for the environment. We now just have a sage bean to cup which is great. Although I tend to just drink straight up black coffee.

toastofthetown · 25/01/2026 07:41

I have a Sage Bambino Plus and love it. It’s a small machine, but feature rich for its size and price point. It’s simple to use, will steam milk excellently automatically and can adapt to either freshly ground for espresso coffee or more coarse pre-ground coffee like you get in the supermarkets depending on the baskets used.

We had a dedica for 5 years, we liked it for a long time! It makes really great coffee, and doesn't take much space at all.
But keep in mind you have to make every single cup of coffee manually. If you're used to press a button for Nescafé, it could be a bit of a faff.
If you want milk for a latte, then that more time needed to froth the milk.

In the end when we had to replace it a few months ago, we went for the Phillips 5500. With kids and stuff, we just wanted to press a button for our morning coffee!
More expensive, but bean to cup and easier to clean/maintain. I love the milk frother on that one, it's super easy to clean.
Probably twice as large as the dedica, but still on the smaller size for that type of machine. The coffee is probably not as good as the dedica, but still very good.
