Hi all
I have been at my current company now for around 3 years. Its a small company and in quite a niche market. I work in business development sphere of work.
Employees at the company are all generally likeable etc, and we work well, but there are some major, major issues with senior management and not sure if I should address these in a specific way, or else just look for another job?
When I first started, I was reporting directly to the CEO. He is quite blunt, to the point and frankly, can border on quite rude.
I then had another manager he brought on board who was worse. Rude, extremely vague, micromanaging and just not a pleasant person to work with. This is not just me either - almost everybody in the business has approached me and told me "he has to go" or made complaints about his behaviour and communications.
Thankfully, I got a new manager a few months back who is absolutely brilliant. Very supportive, communicates well and we work well together. However, this manager has voiced concerns about the previous two managers I mentioned (and he now works directly with).
He has said in 40+ years of working he has never worked in such a disjointed place and that the two managers I mentioned are impossible to work with. I have been told by him and another manager within the business that they are recording and taking note of things to try and force one of the managers out, and that they plan on telling the CEO he needs to improve his communications and management styles or they will walk.
To note, our HR dept is based in another country and doesnt seem overly bothered about any concerns raised to them, they just relay these back to the CEO who will then see this as an attack on him and tell you to get on with it.
I like my job role, I am paid reasonably well, but if my current manager goes and I am back to any of my previous direct managers, I think I will dislike my job massively.
Do I take onboard other peoples sentiments and start looking for another job? Or are there other ways I can handle such issues with senior management that isnt going to get me into a sticky situation?
