Not really an aibu more just need validation I won’t be wasting there time 🤣.

My memory has been horrific lately and I’m forgetting so much short term things ie il place something down and instantly forget where I have put it , my husband has laughed about it for few months now and I just put it down to being forgetful .

i forgot two very important appointments even after making notes in my calendar and setting alarm on my phone .

Trying to remember other examples but I’ve forgot them 🙈.

The last few days it seems to be getting even worse I forgot too collect my kids from school , luckily I live two mins from school and they just walked home themselves but it’s really worrying me .

Im in my mid 30s no major health issues except asthma , not particularly stressed (well none more than usual ).

Is it worth speaking to GP about this ? What could the even do .

Definitely worth seeing a GP and asap! I think they'll do some blood tests, maybe even a referral to a neurologist and/or a brain scan. It really does need seeing to, it could be a deficiency or something more sinister.

YANBU at all - there is no way you'd be wasting any GP time. Most likely something not too scary, but I really would get it looked at, for your own peace of mind if nothing else.

OP its probably worth a visit, to exclude reversible causes of memory impairment.
issues like anaemia, low B12 and thyroid issues can cause problems with memory.
Some common prescribed medications can also cause issues with cognition, often alternatives can be offered.
Dementia is extremely rare in your 30’s and is almost always caused by one or a combination of faulty genes which are hereditary. You would almost certainly be aware of others on one side of the family having suffered if that was the case.

Thanks that’s reassuring , thankfully I’m very fortune and no family history of dementia 🤞🏻.

B12 is a possibility I have had issues with that before (over ten years ago) .

i had bloods done few weeks ago and everything was fine .bloods where for unrelated issue, bleeding gums . Dentist though must be a deficiency in something as teeth are healthy and no sign of gums disease but they bleed at slightest touch.
