Solicitors not getting back

Hi wondering if anyone could give me any advice as I’m at my wits end. I am buying a house that should have been completed 2 weeks ago. The vendor keeps changing her mind after 2 dates been put forward and she agreed on then pulled out of at last minute. My buyer is threatening to walk away after all this mess about. Everything has now gone quiet on the vendor’s solicitor side with them not get back to our solicitor so we don’t know what is going on. After several phone call with the agent they keep saying she is keen to move and come out of the property but they don’t know when has she is not returning there calls. Do you think I should threat to walk away.

This is when your estate agent needs to step up and earn their extortionate commission by haranguing the relevant parties.

Was it easy to find your buyer and are you keen for the sale to complete?

One solution would be to go ahead with the sale, rent and explore your options for a purchase. It’s not easy, but if you’re keen to sell, it puts you in a good position to do so.

You could put a deadline to the vendor in writing and pull out if you don’t get a timely response.

You need to give them an ultimatum because at least that way you know now what’s going on and can communicate that to your buyers.

You may want to think about selling anyway and renting/staying with family if you really don’t want to lose your buyer

It’s typical that they need endless chasing, in my experience (several previous purchases over the decades).
