Cosy January plans

I feel a bit all over the place at the moment. The chaos of preparing for Christmas, numerous illnesses, now the routine-less weird period between Christmas and new year. I know we’re supposed to embrace this downtime but I feel a bit anxious and adrift. We have a few days away planned over new year but by next Monday I’d like to get back into some semblance of normality and routine.

I have definitely been drinking too much, eating too much and not getting enough sleep so I’d like a bit of a quiet, healthier January. Stop any midweek drinking, eat more nutritious meals and just bloody rest a bit! I plan to use our treadmill in the evenings when it’s too cold to get out for a walk, make a start on some good books and series and hopefully have a very cheap, very quiet cosy month. What are your tips for January hibernation?

I'm enjoying the down time but I'm also looking forward to planning some things that will give me a lift in January. Going to look for a new yoga class and also pick some films, TV series and documentaries for the cold evenings. I am also a big believer in fleecy blankets to curl up under when reading or TV watching.

Ive made a few 'freezer dinners' instead of takeout (made double quantities of meals we have had and frozen half). Going back to the W rule for boozing - wednesdays and weekends and aiming for 10000 steps per day every day for the year to make sure I am walking lots at least.

Also have lots of spring crochet lined up for the evenings and some sewing projects to start. I need a few books on my kindle - suggestions welcome.
