Like I've over eaten except I haven't really

Lethargic and tired and bored and ughhhh

Exercise loads so it's not that. What's the cure??

Me too, the best cure is a long walk in fresh air, colder the better! And a day of eating very lightly. Take a good multivitamin, particularly vitamin D.

Squirrelsnut · 28/12/2025 19:07

Is your exercise outside?

Are you peri or menopause age? I’m 43 and periods stopped a couple of years ago. I have that feeling plus mild nausea, it’s not fun! Not sure what to do about it. Nothing really helps. It’s going to be a long time until spring!

Maybe lay off exercise a bit. I do CrossFit three times a week, two yoga sessions and two dance sessions and I can definitely tell you this is not sustainable over winter. There isn't enough light, bodies use extra energy to keep warm. Historically, winter was always a time to hibernate and spend more time resting and recovering. As soon as I cut back on my training a bit and focus on sleep and recovery, I start feeling miles better within days.

I've felt like this since as long as I've been alive - everything experienced by women is not perimenopause!!!!!

SAD lamp and vitamin D tablets.

But it is life long, have you had blood tests for iron levels?

I do think giving oneself permission to rest can help but I've got the malaise right now. Maybe a hot tea will help.

I actually have the first two but am bad at sticking to sad lamp cos it's so insanely bright it's a bit sore to look at (I know this is the point).

Should get other things tested.

Use the lamp as a work lamp / task light. I have mine on my desk and use it every day as my main lamp.

That's a lot of steps in a day, around 12 miles for women, plus you say you haven't really overeaten, so there's something going on there about exhausting yourself- but why? I mean I'd feel exhausted if I'd walked 12 miles!

I think get a blood test with the GP to see if iron is ok, Vit D is ok and so on, because it may be you are exercising/walking against some underlying deficiency or even just need to go with the body trying to tell you to slow down. I am big into listening to your body and yours is saying stop, reflect a bit. Can you plan some other things to give you a lift, like talk with a good friend, go to a coffee shop, or whatever gives you a bit of a boost.

This is a hard time of year for lots of people mentally. I quite like it myself as I'm not a fan of Christmas and can't wait to get started on projects in the New Year!

I just have a lot of physical energy and I feel better using it. The downside is all the weird folks you meet on your travels 🤣

Maybe I need to test my blood sugar a bit

You did because it drives me insane that men get to have feelings and perspectives and philosophies and metaphysical experiences and women just get to have ovary juices (and everyone acts like this is progress rather than regression)
