In The Holiday…just beautiful clothes and she was just so stunning
Can’t believe it came out 20 years ago..I was only 27 😩

I counted 4 different coats. Even with her massive suitcase it’s a bit far fetched.
I didn’t like the tight cream one with a line of fussy buttons but the sheepskin one with the pompon cuffs was cute.
Kate Winslet was a bit more dated with long camisole tops and jeans outfits.
And Rufus Sewell with a curly mop of hair!

I get you but with her wealthy character it's entirely possible she had stuff shipped over separately which arrived a couple days after....

...if that makes the film any more convincing!

What would they be doing if there was a sequel?

Iris would have moved to California to be Eli’s PA and she inherits his house when he dies. She and Jack Black live happily ever after. Graham and Cameron D have split up but he comes to LA for Christmas to visit Iris and bumps into Cameron Diaz again. Cue another romance.

What are his girls up to?

Maybe offer a cup of tea when CD and JL repeatedly say “I slept with you twice and had sex with you once”.
A few non-consensual kisses, too. Something that has moved on in the last 20 years.

I agree. I watched imThe Holiday for the first time a few weeks ago. Hated the film, but struck by CD's beauty and amazing wardrobe - especially the cream cardigan. So elegant and timeless.

I watched it a few days ago, I was thinking how very amazing Cameron Diaz hair was looking. I also loved the flower for the wrist for Kate when she went with Arthur to the celebration.

I saw some of it the other day and couldn't get over how shiny and beautiful they all looked. They just radiate good health, their dewey skin and slim figures. I think I have been in love with Jude Law's character since then. He is so beautiful to me and the tragic widow and Dad thing was swoon (Mr handkerchief man made my ovaries sigh). The only thing is I couldn't help but think how old the cast look by comparison, all still lovely of course especially Kate who is ageing remarkably well, but still she is ageing. I am the same age and it suddenly made me incredibly sad, that movie doesn't seem old to me but I have also aged that much since it came out. I went from young woman to middle aged in the blink of an eye.

Yes I feel the same, late twenties then and enjoying career and listening to The killers etc, no nearing 50?! What on earth happened

I once read an interview with Jude Law where he said that all the scenes set inside were filmed on a set in LA (ie inside Iris’s cottage, inside his house with the little girls), and all his outdoor scenes were filmed in the UK, and he always notices how tanned he is in the LA bits. Now I always notice it too! Knocks on Iris’s door with his pale face, 5 seconds later he’s inside the cottage with a golden tan!!

I also worry about the dog. Amanda was just going to bugger off back to the US and abandon it!

But I’m derailing - I agree, Cameron’s winter clothing is wonderful!

It’s easy to look fabulous with CD’s cheek bones and figure! I think she always looks elegant, I’d have spilt something on that cream coat within minutes😂

I dont hate JB, I just don't think he isn't a great actor and I think he was miscast here. Perhaps I missed the point of the movie but I feel we are supposed to think Kate Winslet is quite ordinary (but kind) and in love with someone out of her league, (who is a total shit) and Jack Black is also ordinary (and also kind) and in love with a beautiful actress (who cheats on him), they give up on their out of reach, unsuitable, fantasy lovers and fall for each other. But KW is beautiful, and JB is not at all so it just doesn't work for me.

I don't hate JB , (he was funny in the Jumanji remake ) but he's the furthest from a romantic character than I can imagine . He puts on a "face" and looks like Benny Hill when he's being a giggly schoolboy .

I hadn't watched this till last year ( DD likes this film) but I was irritated as heck by JB .
There was some scene where they're in a bar and he does this weirdey "Aren't I cute " face

I don’t understand how you’re all criticising JB’s and Kate W’s characters getting together based purely on looks.

His character is a bit goofy but is thoughtful, kind and sweet. Just because he’s not good looking makes him unsuitable?

I’d rather a kind, decent and loving man who isn’t anything to look at than someone who looks like Jude Law who slept with the nanny btw!

I've said this before in previous years. You're missing the point.

KW falls for a handsome man who is a total shit, she ends up going for 'the nice guy' who treats her better.

CD ditches the handsome player and goes for a more mature handsome guy with a shit tonne of baggage.

Yea she's getting a better deal I suppose, when it comes to looks, but overall both women are getting what they're missing.
