christmas trees and cooking

Every year DP starts to get the digs in early about me failing in previous years to get a tree in good time and/or putting it up "far too late". In my family an artificial tree went up on christmas eve or the day before, so I feel getting a real tree the weekend before Christmas is fine, and time/effort enough. This year after a fortnight of snide remarks I said: "I am done - get it yourself".
For food, usually DP shops for it and I cook. Usually for 11 people in aggregate between the 25th & 26th. DP will buy spuds for 6-8 and then wonder why the portions are mean.
This year DP has gone one better. there are allergies in the family so we need a plain turkey crown. I've just taken it out to start cooking, and DP has bought a turkey stuffed with the exact allergens certain family members can't eat. There is no point in cooking it.
I will cook some alternative food today, which at least everyone can eat without an allergic reaction. But I am not impressed. I've managed to make a very nice Christmas roast every year, even when we've had newborns in the house, and this year DP has scotched it before I even started.
I have ordered an artificial tree and told DP that in future years they can put it up whenever they bloody like, but I am done being ragged about it.
Bah, Humbug.

The tree not at all, we have a green artificial tree with silver decorations on it, and a white artificial tree with red decorations on it.

One was bought in Clacton Poundland years ago when staying in the caravan for Christmas at Dt Osyths, and the other bought a few years later for an alcove we have. They are both about 18inches tall, and beautiful.

Does he/she have any good points? Tbh it is quite unusual to leave it till a day or so before Christmas to put up a tree - but they can do it if they care so much!

The allergens thing is very annoying. Bet that wasn't cheap either- enjoy it at a later date?

Why is the tree solely your responsibility? If he/she wants a tree up sooner, sort it!!

Quite. I have done it most years since we had kids with the exception of one or two years when I was sick.
I'd have been happy to get one the weekend before christmas, which this year was the 20th. But what I get is repeated carping from early Dec. if DP wanted it done differently, they could've done it themselves.
