Manners - queue jumpers

is anyone else noticing manners have completely gone out the window?

twice today people have just cut in front of me. Once at the supermarket when a woman just walked to the front of a long queue - when I said there was a queue she told me she was with her mother - who had walked along side her. I am not sure why she thought that was relevant!

then I went to the vet. Was clearly carrying a cat carrier - and standing back a little from the lady in front who seemed to think it was fine to let dog try to get at the cat. I had to ask her to pull him back as my cat is nervous! Another woman then just walked infront of me and the receptionist served her like I didn’t exist!

I give up. As a middle aged lady myself, I am saddened that this behavior all seems to come from women of a certain age. I have the Karen stereotype - it is so bloody sexist. But after today I am worried there may be some truth in it!

People can be astonishingly selfish these days.

I don't think people are any worse these days. At least, I haven't noticed it. I always remember on my first visit to Bristol I went to an open air market and it was so busy my arm accidentally nudged someone, not hard though. Grown man. He then tuned around, followed me, and gave me a hard shove. I was about 13

I'm noticing invisible middle aged woman syndrome more now, fucks me right off. I find myself using my special Miss Jean Brodie voice more these days.

To be honest if it wasn’t other women being so rude I would think this was invisible women syndrome.

both queue jumping women acted like I didn’t exist. The woman in the vet clearly knew she had walked in front of me but didn’t acknowledge it, or even give a fake apology. I admit I did give her a very dirty look (I had an injured cat with me. She was just collecting medicine and getting her dog weighed).
