I fear we’ve over-egged the pudding. Don’t know any other parents well enough to ask…

I give one to my dds teachers and relevant doctors so I vote yeah x

Mufflette · 23/12/2025 10:01

Yes, a little box of chocs for his key workers and some biscuits and coffee for everyone.

HermioneWeasley · 23/12/2025 10:02

They’re really low paid, much more so than teachers, so I would

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 23/12/2025 10:02

Yes, I always did.

ItstimmmmmmmmeeechristmasWOOP · 23/12/2025 10:04

We did yes, don’t with teachers - but did with all the nursey staff. My DD went to nursey from 6 months and they cared for her so well. She absolutely loved the place.

CheeseWisely · 23/12/2025 10:05

Yes, chocolates for the room and a nice Christmas candle from a local maker for the key worker.

Squidgemoon · 23/12/2025 10:06

I always did - usually Costa or Starbucks vouchers.

PrincessFairyWren · 23/12/2025 10:07

I normally buy for my kids OT and Speechie. So I vote yes.

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 23/12/2025 10:08

We always have.

muddlingthrou · 23/12/2025 10:09

Yep, gave them a Caffè Nero voucher

vinnabawl · 23/12/2025 10:10

Yep. Give a box of nice chocs for the key worker and then a couple of boxes of biscuits for the room staff in general. Every year they insist they don’t want anything but biscuits go down well as they keep them in the communal room and use them through the year

TalulahJP · 23/12/2025 10:10

why not! a small thank you for looking after the most important person/people in your life is never too much.

i’ve been saying that to my mum, she should thank her carers.

As long as the gift is under £8 so they are allowed to keep it, depending on the rules in their organisation.

Eenameenadeeka · 23/12/2025 10:28

Yes but just something small like chocolates.

Geneticsbunny · 23/12/2025 11:15

No because we would have to buy so many present if we tried to give a gift to everyone who was supporting our family. I do cards with a nice heartfelt message if I have time.

PevenseygirlQQ · 23/12/2025 11:17

I sent in some tubs of quality street for all the staff and gave daughters key worker a separate gift, just a candle to say a slightly more personal thank you as she is an absolute angel on earth for my daughter

My dc are too old for it now but we always got little presents for nursery workers, teachers and school staff. They have a huge input into your child’s life over a long period of time. Many people think nothing of tipping someone who has served them for a couple of hours in a restaurant or hairdresser but quibble over gifts for people who regularly care for and educate the most precious thing in your life. It makes no sense.
