Tesco Marketplace. How can they allow these prices on their website?

I’ll give you an example. Just a packet of normal cotton wool pads, the likes of which would cost you £1 - £2 in any regular shop.
Or you can get them on Tesco Marketplace for £6.99 plus £1.99 delivery. And actually, these are usually sold in packs of 50 cotton pads, this one only has 40.
Who would pay this?! It’s truly bizarre and the Tesco grocery shopping app is full of these rip-off products and prices.

I hate the whole marketplace thing. I expect their website to include in my delivery any items or that are available on their shelves as before and not to redirect me to these expensive items.

We looked in Tescos one Easter at a major premium chocolate brand’s Easter eggs. They were £15 full price and £12 with a Club card. As we were sending one by post, I looked at the manufacturer’s website. The same egg at full price there was £12!

If somebody wants to spend that amount, they will. If nobody does, it won't be sold. Just don't buy it if you think it's too expensive. Buy from Tesco themselves instead. Nobody is being ripped off.

I knew somebody would come back with this. And I get it, the whole ‘you pay your money, you take your choice’ thing.
But still, come on!

But it's true. I just looked at the Tesco site. I found nine other packets of cotton pads for less than £2 before the first marketplace one at a similar price to yours. Buyers have a choice to pay the inflated price or not. There's no rip off, no price gouging. I really can't see why this annoys you.

It's similar sort of pricing to Amazon, some will be cheap, some won't be, you just choose which to buy or not

I use Tesco cos I live in the middle of nowhere, have a disability and find delivery ideal. But I never buy the marketplace items.
