Another big Valentte fan here.
Aldi ones give me a headache, Asda lost theor smell after a week. White Company are great smellong but I found oils settled strange in the bottle and looked awful for the price.
Valentte have offers on every day, you can get one for £8. They smell lovely and have very good longevity.

OhYeahOhYeah · 22/12/2025 16:48

Rituals ones smell great and really do throw the scent

Petrine · 22/12/2025 16:51

I find the Fragonard ones are good.

XenoBitch · 22/12/2025 16:53

Another vote for Valentte. They always have offers on, and for about £6/7 you can have free P&P for a year (not 100% sure if they still offer it... DM is the one that orders a lot).

I love the Ashleigh and burn wood tuberose.

Please be aware they're bad for pets especially cats. Plug ins are even worse.

CatsLikeBoxes · 22/12/2025 18:33

I like the habitat ones you can buy in Sainsbury's - the smell really lasts. I like peony and something.
I have the m&s Christmas one - mandarin, clove and cinnamon which I love and get each Christmas - that lasts well too, so I assume others in the range would be effective too

Lennonjingles · 22/12/2025 18:39

Another fan of Ashleigh and Burwood diffusers, they are long lasting and a local company to me.

Bambi3919 · 22/12/2025 18:40

The Ashleigh and burn wood are on sale on their website.

youwillneverknow · 22/12/2025 19:33

I only find them effective in smaller rooms, if at all. I used to spend a fortune on them, now I just have one in the downstairs loo and master en suite and for everywhere else I have a room spray and use that occasionally. Nothing beats ventilation though - I aim to open windows for 10 mins every day 🙂

JMSA · 22/12/2025 19:36

Really weird, but a colleague picked me up the popular Aldi one a while back. I had commented on how lovely it made her office smell. But at my place I couldn’t smell a thing! Maybe it was a dud one.
I’m not usually one to make my own anything! But I actually think this is a really good idea. What carrier oil would you recommend, please?

HansHolbein · 22/12/2025 19:37

White Company

FletchFan · 22/12/2025 19:38

Valentte are the best.

Starhaf · 22/12/2025 19:39

another vote for Valentte - especially the sicilian mint & lemon

I agree @youwillneverknow , I find them only effective in small rooms too.
They're all lovely if you have the reeds practically up your nose but not very effective from a distance.
Molton Brown ones used to be good, back in the day, but I find they too have become fairly useless now as a room fragrance - I think they've changed the method of production or the contents.

Inthewrongtimezone · 22/12/2025 19:43

I would advise avoidance of that sort of product. They're basically pollutants that release toxins into the air and contribute to a lowering of indoor air quality in general.

The same applies to scented candles, wax melts and other types of diffuser that release a scent.

ednaclouda · 22/12/2025 19:55

Ive got a black cherry diffuser from Aldi and its amazing

Soya candles are ok though, no? I only buy natural ones now to avoid a lot of the toxins in your average supermarket candle 😬

I love the ones from Asda. They smell amazing!

pinkstripeycat · 21/12/2025 22:56

I get mine from next. Sometimes they smell strong for ages, sometimes they don’t. Found a perfect one that lasted ages, smelt lovely but as with most of their scents they discontinued it.

I’ve got the Christmas spice ones from Next this year - lovely strong, festive smell 🤩

Cookie105 · 22/12/2025 20:26

Aldi are the best I’ve come across that last ages

tobermoryisthebestwomble · 22/12/2025 20:31

I buy mine from skandinavisk. Ive been using their candles for years and love the smells, all based in nature and not synthetic or chemically. They really last well too and you can buy refills in larger sizes. I have the Skog one in my living room and hall for Christmas and it smells so lovely of fresh pine (not pine loo cleaner, like others). Their Hygge scent is also a favourite of mine. Very cosy

JillMW · 22/12/2025 21:11

My daughter gets Neom. You can smell them three streets away!

Vallentte are the best I have found.

I agree and they always have great deals on ☺️

rc22 · 22/12/2025 21:59

I get them from the Yorkshire Soap Company. They smell lovely but I only use them in the cloakroom. Never tried one in a bigger room.
