Did you one day just find you run hotter than you used to

Not hot flashes more like you just don't need the heating up so high and pyjamas that used to be cosy become stifling

Happened to me about five years ago and tbh I miss enjoying snuggly jumpers etc! And heavy duvets.

If it did happen did you ever go back?

Get yourselves checked for lymphoma. I had it years ago, and therefore whilst I have recently had a hysterectomy I did not put night sweats down to that but b symptoms. Turns out I was right.

This happened to me a few years ago. The night sweats are what sent me to the doctor. It turns out, I too have an autoimmune disease. The high body temp and night sweats are calm whenever I receive treatment. As soon as I stop, they come back with a vengeance.

Graves?

I swing between running hot (perimenopause) and running freezing and needing a hot bath. I think my internal thermostat is just broken!

I run hot and I’m sure it’s because I’m overweight. When I was commuting regularly (I WFH since 2019) I’d walk to the station and wait on the platform in December and I’d be wearing a T-shirt. Other people would walk to station in HUGE winter coat, hat, scarves, gloves the lot.

DD has been calling me “the best warm Mummy” since she was about 3. Now 15!

DH complains I burn him in the night I’m so hot (but no night sweats/hot flushes ever)

I don’t like running hot. It’s easier to make yourself warm than it is to cool down.

I keep my home quite cool which means other family member have to wrap up warm!

Mine went haywire during the menopause. I was always the cold one wearing coats in summer and now I'm the one sweating at night when it's 5C. Everyone says my house is freezing (as does the boiler control) but I'm not, although I can tell the air is cold.

I have several autoimmune conditions but it's recently been found i have a nodule on my adrenal gland. Wonder if that's the cause.

Graves?

Addisons, but I've heard that both can go hand in hand.

Limth · 22/12/2025 00:43

Yes! I always used to be freezing cold. Any slight dip in temperature or slight draught anywhere near me and I'd turn blue.

A few years back I started very seriously lifting weight and kickboxing training. I gained muscle and I think I must've improved my circulation because I'm rarely cold these days.

It's actually lovely.
