To request a refund

I purchased an expensive baby travel system from a big retailer in June which I’ve been using since September with my first born DC. I tested many options during the booking appointment and was happy with my decision initially, but now have big regrets. The quality has been terrible, it’s so rickety, is really uncomfortable for DC, certain aspects that really appealed to me keep failing ie. Getting jammed. The wheels are terrible on anything tougher than a wooden floor.

Is this grounds to complain or should I like it and lump it? The stroller isn’t faulty but having used it for three months I find it very unimpressive and hasn’t lived up to expectations.

Potentially but you have been using it for a while now. Where did you buy it from?

fruitbrewhaha · 19/12/2025 21:38

I’d say getting jammed is faulty.

Potentially but you have been using it and say the stroller isn’t faulty. Is it getting jammed because you haven’t mastered how to use it properly or is there an actual fault. Sometimes there is a nack to folding / unfolding / clipping. Big regrets alone and it not living up to expectations on your part won’t get you a refund.

Depends who you bought it from and their customer service. ‘Back in the day’ if it was some place like John Lewis, I’d have said their reputation would have meant they’d replace it or refund - whether that’s true now I don’t know. Give it a try. They might direct you to the manufacturer.

Unless there is a manufacturing fault, no. You can't get a refund for change of heart.

You’ll have to prove it’s not fit for purpose.

Your best bet is to say that it’s faulty and explain about the jamming. Then you should get a refund or you can exchange it for a different pram. It should work for more than three months.
