To have £500 in your account db commented today that I hardly have any money in my account but I’m unable to work due to health issues so personally I think it’s quite good

For how long? Is this money you need to spend or savings or what? Context needed.

I think that unless he's offering to top it up to the amount he thinks you should have, he needs to keep his trap shut.

how does he know how much you have anyway?

not being able to work due to health issues sucks, big time & if you are keeping your head above water with savings or benefits & YOU feel 'ok' it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

It is good, OP. Keep adding to it if you can, as you don't know when an emergency might crop up where you will need it. Even £10 a month will help.

Is this the money you're living off or savings?

If it's the former I guess it depends on how long you need it to last and what your outgoing are expected to be over that period.

If it's the later then I think it's a good amount to have saved if you're not working.

£500 is a good amount saved if you're on a low income and some spare money is always better than none. Always worth bearing this in mind if you find yourself with a bit of spare money at the end of the week/month and are thinking that you might as well spend it on something that's not essential. If you manage to not do this, it builds up into a meaningful amount.

If it's genuinely spare money rather than needed for bills, food etc, it would be available to replace a washing machine or other essential if necessary.
