Asda Christmas delivery warning!

I have just gone to amend my order for a delivery slot booked for next week (booked when Christmas slots opened in October!), only to find no trace of it on my account. The email confirmation link does not work either. I called them and they said the only way to fix it is for them to cancel the order and rebook it.... I am not filled with confidence that they will manage to do this given the slots have been sold out for weeks. If you have slots booked for Christmas, I suggest checking they still exist on your account!

Update - no supervisor call so I rang back. On finally getting through to supervisor, she suggested that I had asked them to cancel it. Then said I gave permission for them to cancel it. Then said she would listen to the call to see what actually happened.... 🙄This will all take a few days but ultimately there were no slots available so they couldn't fix it.

Yearly delivery is due for renewal in January... might have to rethink options!

Get over to ocado, they released more dates. I've tried them all and they are the best. Got £350 shopping arriving later and only one substitution (one loaf of bread for a different one). And no they aren't dearer, they do price match with tesco and give you the difference in voucher form if tesco would have been cheaper. Some of the M & S basics are cheaper than anywhere else🤷‍♀️

Unfortunately, Ocado doesn't operate everywhere.

Me, anytime an opportunity to bash Aada comes up!!!!

Shite company who made their smart price line unavailable online during the pandemic

The pandemic is the reason I started shopping there, they were genuinely brilliant if you were shielding. Free delivery passes, no minimum spend. It was so helpful.

I had issues with an Asda Christmas delivery a few years ago. Slot booked for delivery Christmas Eve. A dollop of snow fell the night before and Asda cancelled all deliveries. I had to go out myself on Christmas Eve (on totally clear roads) and grab what I could . Ended up with a chicken !

edited for a very unfortunate typo!

I've stopped using Asda too after so many problems with my orders for about 8 weeks! Including canceling, not able to edit, not being able to log in, it was just so annoying!

I managed to find mine but the new app is so bad! It has a panic attack when I open it, and I miss the shopping lists so much too.

I miss the shopping lists too, now I have to write down everything I want on a piece of paper and it takes age to do the shopping now.

I stopped using Asda years ago cause their delivery was terrible, too many subs. Tesco are so much better here . Also live rural, so no Ocado.

I'm glad you had that experience, as I couldnt get a slot and then couldnt buy their cheapest stuff at a time when I was struggling 😄🥺

That said, the prices were nothing compared to what they are now 😳

I booked a delivery for 22nd this week with Asda. I’ve never had issue with getting a delivery it’s the 15+ substitutions that annoy me. I will be cancelling it tho as I managed to get a Tesco collection for 23rd

We got priority slots at all supermarkets to be fair. It was the only alright bit of shielding.

All the time I used Asda for deliveries, I never once had an occasion when there weren't subs. Tescos hardly ever sub. It's unacceptable what's happened to you and a 25 quid voucher is the least I would expect.

Do any of you have any recommendations of anything that is particularly nice from Asda?

I moved from Asda to Sainsbury’s deliveries earlier in the year due to the Asda app being so difficult to use and then so many substitutions/missing items. However, I’d got £20 saved in my Christmas saver that I don’t want to waste. I have my Sainsbury’s Christmas order booked for Tues but also got an Asda order booked for Monday to use this voucher. I could just do a small shop of general items (and delete them from my Sainsbury’s order) but wondered if there is anything that anyone would particularly recommend from Asda?

Why don't you have a look at their George selection.

Can you go into Asda, they have some nice things in the clothing and homeware sections, then you could cancel your delivery and someone else could have it.
