You need to give more information. It really depends on why you vomited.

Depends why are you vomiting, how often, how long for and how often you're fainting.
If you're generally fit and healthy but have had a stomach bug or flu and haven't eaten much or been able to keep food down fainting is quite common.
If your talking about someone randomly vomiting for no apparent reason and then passing out yes thats something to talk to a dr about

Not sure what's going on with pp, but do you have low blood pressure? Is it a morning thing and youre moving to fast, need to sit still and drink water for a few minutes? This is me 😅

DM does it occasionally (every couple of years) if she has a stomach upset (and when she was pregnant). It's been investigated and it's just the way her body works it seems.

Triathleet · 15/12/2025 23:17

Yes it's probably normal. The act of being sick triggers a vasovagal response which slows your heart rate, drops your blood pressure and causes a transient lack of blood flow to your brain so you lose consciousness. It's usually harmless in itself but obviously you could injure yourself falling / aspirate some vomit if you're really unlucky.

But it could also be something to be investigated, so please don't take medical advice to not act from an anonymous forum where people have none of your medical history or access to referrals or context.

If it happens more than once, make an appt to see your GP - better they tell you there's nothing to worry about than Mumsnet.

I remember being pregnant vomiting, peeing myself (because of the force of vomiting) and fainting in the hospital waiting room after drinking the glucose drink. There was nothing "wrong".
More info is needed though. Noone can diagnose over the internet. If you are worried or it is happening frequently then it's definitely worth a trip to your gp
