To think I might feel great without a womb?

I’ve suffered with endometriosis my whol life but after having children it was manageable but last few years have adenymiosis too and getting polyps too. I’ve never not had endometriosis so I’m wondering if I may feel a lot better without the womb. I often get feverish towards end of the day and wonder if it’s inflammation related.

im being offered a radical hysterectomy including ovary (had fertility sparing ten years ago due to ovarian tumour) my worry is a surgical menopause and how bad I’ll feel as this perimenopause is hell enough.

had anyone had a hysterectomy and it’s changed their life? Just not sure what to do at all.

It sounds like you have a very poor quality of life.

So if this is the only way to rectify that… I’d go for it

How old are you?

No one can really say how you’ll feel afterwards as everyone reacts differently, however in your case I’d say go for it as I think it will improve your life immensely. I had a radical hysterectomy aged 42 for borderline ovarian cancer. For me surgical menopause was manageable. Talk through your post op options with your medical team.

Did you get offered HRT?
they said the tumour is oestrogen receptive - they wanted to give me a radical clearance 10 years ago but I fought hard for fertility soaring.

As my tumour was borderline HRT was mentioned but I was advised to see how I got on without. If my symptoms became really unmanageable then it would have been an option but thankfully I coped ok.
